Mbhashe Online is a digital platform that is designed to digitalize the Mbhashe’s three main towns better known as DGX – Dutywa-Gatyana -Xhorha. The area is very rich with the language of isiXhosa, Culture, Tourism, Farming and many more. Mbhashe Online is a one stop website where you have to learn all about this coastal community in the Eastern Cape under the Amathole District Municipality, in Mbhashe Local Municipality as the name of the website suggest. The website is independent, not affiliated to any government authority but the content contained by the website is influenced by the community. The area was not accessible on the digital platform but now Mbhashe Online.

Mbhashe Wethu

Mbhashe with total population of about 254 909, the municipality earned its name from the beautiful river called Mbhashe, which flows through Dutywa, Gatyana and Xhorha. Mbhashe Municipality is a Category B, Third Grade municipality. Mbhashe is situated in the south eastern parts of the Eastern Cape, and is bound by the coastline flowing from Qhorha River in the south to the Mncwasa River in the north along Indian Ocean. Mbhashe borders the following municipalities: King Sabatha Dalindyebo in the north east, Ngcobo in the west, Mnquma in the south and iNtsika Yethu in the south west. Towns: Dutywa – Gatyana – Xhorha (DGX)

Mbhashe Municipality falls within Amathole District Municipality. In population 99.9% of the people in Mbhashe Municipality is black and use mainly isiXhosa.
